FURTHER EDUCATION AND ADULT

The Prevent Duty has become a central element of the
UK’s counter-terrorism strategy, requiring education
providers to play a frontline role in identifying and
addressing risks of radicalisation. While its aims centre on
safeguarding, the policy has raised significant questions,
particularly in the context of Further Education (FE),
apprenticeships, and adult education, about its impact on
trust, inclusion, and the freedom to explore complex or
controversial ideas.
Since the introduction of the Counter-Terrorism and
Security Act 2015, colleges, independent training providers
have been legally obliged to
