£1,000 for hiring a
16 to 18-year-old
apprentice
(available to nonlevy employers).
From October 2026, eligible
employers recruiting a 16–24year-old apprentice could
benefit from a new £2,000 hiring
incentive. In addition, eligible
16–18-year-old apprentices and
learners aged 19+ with an
Education, Health and Care Plan
(EHCP) may qualify for a £1,000
incentive payment.
From August 2026, eligible 16–
24-year-old apprentices will
also no longer require an
employer contribution, making
apprenticeships a more
accessible and affordable way
for settings to develop their
teams.
