One of the advantages of starting your career through an
apprenticeship is that you're gaining real workplace experience while
achieving a qualification. Later, you might decide to:
Study for a degree
Apply to university for a subject that supports your career
ambitions or takes you somewhere completely new.
Progress through a higher or degree apprenticeship
Depending on your occupation and the opportunities
available, you may be able to continue working while
studying at a higher level.
Explore other higher education
Higher education isn't limited to bachelor's degrees.
Depending on your goals, you could explore qualifications
such as foundation degrees, HNCs or HNDs.
Study alongside your career
Some courses offer part-time, distance or flexible study,
allowing people to continue working while learning.
Will My Apprenticeship Get Me Into Uni?
Potentially, yes. Universities set their own
entry requirements, and these vary between
courses. They may consider your
qualifications alongside your experience,
previous study and other evidence of your
ability to succeed on the course.
If there's a degree you're interested in, don't
assume you aren't eligible. Check the
individual course requirements or contact
the university and ask.
