Professional Language in Early Years
In Early Years practice, using professional language means describing
children’s behaviour and development in a way that is accurate,
objective, and based on recognised Early Years frameworks. It
replaces informal or judgemental wording with precise terminology
that helps practitioners to interpret behaviour in relation to
development, identify possible needs, and plan appropriate support.
